Freemasonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity. Today in North America, the masonic fraternity gives almost $2 million each day to causes that range from operating children’s hospitals, providing treatment for childhood language disorders, treating eye diseases, funding medical research, contributing to local community service, and providing care to Masons and their families at Masonic Homes. The four million Masons worldwide continue to help men and women face the problems of the 21st century by building bridges of brotherhood and instilling in the hearts of men ideals for a better tomorrow.
Our history is as follows.
In January 2002, several Master Masons met during a social event and soon the discussion turned towards Masonry. Passionate about the Craft and the true meaning of what they believed Masonry to be all about, they focused on the finer points and practices of Freemasonry and decided to form a lodge that would center on the best Masonry has to offer.
On June 4, 2005, The Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts, along with a suite of distinguished masons, presented a charter to J Philip Berquist Lodge and installed the Charter Officers.
Since that time, J. Philip Berquist Lodge has excelled in admitting good men and fostering them to be better. We are a fraternity that not only is sincere about its members but their families. We believe that in order for good men to have the ability to better themselves, they need the support of their families; therefore, as a family oriented Lodge, we include our wives, significant others, and our children in some of our events and host them for our summer barbeque and Christmas holiday party. Our wives and significant others bond as well, going by the moniker, "The Ladies of JPB". They truly are a force behind all we do.
One of our main purposes is to provide charity. Please visit the Our Charities page for more information.
