J. Philip Berquist Lodge has internal funds that are designated for providing support to the local community and other charitable bodies as permitted.
J. Philip Berquist Lodge provides scholarship funding to students that are Foxborough residents to assist them in beginning their journey in higher education.
The Brotherhood Fund ensures dedicated funds are available for the Grand Master to help, aid, and assist Masons and their families, and orphans. It gives Masons an opportunity to support their fellow Brothers by making tax-deductible donations. Most importantly, it lets our Brethren know, that should they ever find themselves in extreme distress, there is a resource they can turn to for assistance.
Military service means complete commitment to something larger than one’s self, selflessly bearing the responsibility for the security of everything we hold dear in the United States. Soldiers’ Angels’ purpose is to honor that. The mission of Soldiers’ Angels is to provide aid, comfort, and resources to the military, veterans, and their families. J. Philip Berquist Lodge takes great pride in supporting our military by adopting a veteran and their family during the holiday season in order to provide gifts and support to a soldier in need.
In 1993, the first Center, the Massachusetts Scottish Rite Foundation, was established in Newtonville, MA by J. Philip Berquist. At that time Massachusetts General Hospital provided the training for teachers and the Learning Center provided a place for those teachers to do their practicum. In 1994, the program was adopted by Supreme Council as their fourth charity, the Scottish Rite Learning Centers. Today about 50 Children’s Dyslexia Centers are now open in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction offering tutoring services to dyslexic children and training to teachers. In addition to direct donations to the Center, the Center hosts its annual Teddy Bear Classic Golf Outing currently at the Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland, MA. For more information about the outing or to register yourself or a team, go to https://teddybearclassic.golf/ for more information.
DeMolay, the premier international youth leadership organization, striving to shape young men into leaders of character. By epitomizing timeless values, and accepting the challenge of leadership - both of character and of action - the young men of DeMolay transform themselves into citizens of the highest caliber. Each young man takes ownership of his DeMolay experience. From generating ideas, planning events, coordinating logistics, and executing their plans, each DeMolay Chapter is responsible for defining their success. All of this is accomplished under the mentorship of trained Advisors, selected from the local community, enabling each Chapter to be uniquely tailored to support the interests of its members. DeMolay is an inclusive organization that only asks of young men interested to believe in a higher being. A high level of involvement and enthusiasm is far more important for success in DeMolay than any particular skill or ability.
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a non-profit service organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rev. W. Mark Sexson founded our order in McAlester, Oklahoma in April of 1922. He sought to develop an organization where young women could build self confidence and leadership skills, all while serving their community. The organization promotes community service, as well as love and service to their schools, their homes and to each other. Our order prepares the girls of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, called Rainbow for short, teaches leadership skills and public speaking. It builds self-respect, confidence, poise, patriotism, fidelity, integrity and character, all while providing a fun and safe environment for girls to meet other girls their age and to build friendships that will last a lifetime.
